Lots of food, networking, and raffles at PSGCNJ holiday party

Venison chili, curried chicken, turkey meatballs, lasagna, baked ziti, oh my! Pancakes, bagels, cookies, cakes, brownies, cupcakes, and sticky buns, oh my, oh my, oh my!!!

These were just some of the delicious dishes and desserts our members brought to the December 16th PSGCNJ holiday party. There was food aplenty, some raffles, and much networking going on at this year’s holiday brunch. Over 70 members/guests attended and our Executive Director, Ken Hitchner, was there to welcome attendees.

During the party, we raffled off books about networking, and job searching, penned by some of our favorite authors like Abby Kohut, a.k.a, “Absolutely Abby” and Rod Colón.

In the spirit of the season, we also donated all the leftover food to the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP) Inc., located at 87 East High Street in Somerville.

SHIP provides people in need with the basics, such as food, clothing, personal health items, counseling services, emergency housing placement, and more. It also provides safe/decent housing referral alternatives for the homeless, and soon-to-be homeless, suffering from substance abuse dependency or mental health issues or both.

In addition, SHIP helps people adjust to life off the streets by helping them develop the willingness and trust necessary to accept services so they can transition to permanent housing.

The Marketing & Events Committee would like to thank everyone who helped make our holiday brunch a success. It was truly a collaborative effort.
