By Rita WilliamsAbby

Ever wish that you knew precisely the best way to land a position in the current environment? Some news sources think the economy is picking up, which might increase your chances of getting a job. But others think the situation is still far from strong. How should you position yourself? What method should you use? If you want insight into the contemporary job search, come hear Abby Kohut (known on the web as Absolutely Abby) give a talk entitled “Don’t Think Outside the Box, Think Outside This World” at PSGCNJ’s general meeting on August 4.

Abby Kohut is the President of Staffing Symphony, LLC and the author of “Absolutely Abby’s 101 Job Search Secrets.”  This year, CEOWORLD magazine rated her one of the Top 25 Women for Your Job Search. Her AbsolutelyAbby.com website — selected as one of the “Top 100 Websites for Your Career” by Forbes in 2013 — teaches candidates secrets including the “absolute” truth about the job search process.

Fast Company Magazine included Abby in “The Monster 11 for 2011: Career Experts Who Can Help Your Job Search” and the “Top 100 Influential People Online”. She has provided job search tips on Fox 5 television, NBC, CBS, ABC, LinkedIn, Monster, Real Simple, The Ladders, Bloomberg Radio, and Forbes. Since 2010, Abby has been on a mission to help one million job seekers. She is currently driving around the USA on a nationwide tour to accomplish that goal. Abby Kohut brings a great deal of experience in recruiting and human resources to the table. Over the past 18 years, for example, she has been the Senior Director of Recruiting for Kaplan, Interim Director of Recruiting for Continuum Health Partners, and Manager of Global Recruiting for Alpharma.

So, bring a friend and come to hear her speak at PSGCNJ’s general meeting on Monday, August 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church, located at 48 West High Street, Somerville. Be sure to bring business cards, and be prepared to network!

Please refrain from parking in the church parking lot. Metered and unmetered parking is available on West High Street. Unmetered parking is also available on some of the side streets near the church. Please put enough coins in the meter; a parking ticket in Somerville Borough costs $24! Please do not park in the handicapped spaces in the church parking lot or driveway unless you have a wheelchair symbol placard or license plate.

PSGCNJ general meetings are always free and open to the public. If you can’t make it to this meeting, then visit our website www.psgcnj.org for information about upcoming events.
