Now, more than ever, it’s up to job candidates to replace their résumés with business plans to prove to perspective employers that they can save them money.
Job hunters also have to learn how to stand out from the rest of the pack in today’s tough job market. But, how do they do these things? They can start by asking a famous headhunter for advice.
“Instead of just getting hired, learn how to get acquired,” says renowned professional Recruiter Nick A. Corcodilos, owner/operator of the Ask The Headhunter website, who will talk about these issues at a PSGCNJ general meeting on Tuesday, September 3rd, due to the Labor Day holiday falling on Monday.
With millions of talented Americans still looking for work, the United States is experiencing its biggest talent glut in history, according to Corcodilos. But, employers are so tangled up in their Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs) and keyword résumés that they don’t seem to know how to judge real talent any more, he said.
During his presentation, entitled: Be the Profitable Hire: How to stand out in a confused job market, Corcodilos will cover strategic points about how to get noticed by employers. Nick will teach our members how to: cultivate personal contacts in a particular industry, be prepared to demonstrate (at the interview) how they can do the job & contribute to a company’s bottom line. Nick will also cover other issues, including: recruiting, hiring, and job hunting.
Starting out as a Headhunter in one of America’s most competitive job markets, California’s Silicon Valley, Nick has learned to hone his own skills and now helps job seekers get the edge over their competition. So, find out how to get the edge over your own competition and come hear this dynamic speaker on Tuesday, September 3rd, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church, located at 48 West High Street, Somerville.
Please refrain from parking in the church parking lot. Metered parking is available on West High Street. Be sure to put enough coins in the meter! A parking ticket in Somerville Borough costs $24! Unmetered parking is also available on West High Street and on other side streets, near the church.
