Monday, October 21st, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: the Professional Service Group of Central New Jersey (PSGCNJ) will host guest speaker Trish Callahan, who will be giving a presentation entitled, For Profit or Not-for-Profit and Human Resources (HR) Tips about Working with Recruiters.

  • identify job openings
  • research information about a company before a job interview, and
  • access a variety of database to help people with their job searches

Wednesday, October 23rd from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: The New York Science, Industry, and Business Library will be offering a program entitled, Work Search Orientation. Are you a 40+ job seeker? Work Search is an online system that provides links to job openings, skills assessment tools, and training programs at no cost to individuals.
After taking the orientation, Work Search is accessible to registrants through the Internet, or through Library computer systems.  Attendees will learn how to download the information to a USB flash drive. (Bring your own USB flash drive to the program). The program will be held at the New York Science, Industry, and Business Library, 188 Madison Avenue @ 34th Street, New York, NY 10016.
Wednesday, October 23rd, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: The New York Science, Industry, and Business Library will host John Crant, who will be giving a presentation entitled, Building Your Professional Network with LinkedIn and How to Use It in Your Job Search.
John will discuss how to start networking with www.LinkedIn.com’s networking personal profiles, and then use your expanded network in your search for your next career challenge.  The meeting is at the New York Science, Industry and Business Library, 188 Madison Avenue @ 34th Street, New York, NY 10016.
Thursday, October 24th from 10 a.m. to noon: The Princeton Public Library and the Professional Service Group (PSG) of Mercer County will co-host Susan Wilk, who will be giving a presentation entitled, Stress Management for the Job Seeker. Susan, is the founder of No Place Like Aum, and has been teaching meditation and stress management for over 10 years.
Stress is an undeniable part of our lives, particularly for those facing the challenges of life in transition and those involved in active job searches. If unchecked, stress can lead to anxiety, insomnia, problems concentrating, high blood pressure, or other significant health issues. Wear comfortable, loose attire and bring a towel or small pillow. Friday, October 25th, from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: The New York Science, Industry, and Business Library will host a special presentation entitled Job Search Fundamentals. Conducting an effective job search is difficult and sometimes frustrating and this seminar will help attendees:

  • build a better personal brand,
  • learn where to find opportunity,
  • learn how to network,
  • learn how interview better
