Over 40? Learn About Two RVCC Educational/Training Programs

By Audrey N. Lewisrvcc
To learn more about two of Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) educational/training programs, geared to those over 40, come to the July 8th PSGCNJ general meeting Monday.
During the meeting, Brenda Fisher will be making a presentation about the college’s Workforce Development and Encore programs. Come prepared with questions.
As Director of RVCC’s Workforce Development and Professional Programs, part of Fisher’s job is to collaborate with external business partners, and internal RVCC staff, to: evaluate community demand, identify gaps in training, and implement new courses at the college.
So, let her know what courses you’re interested in taking; ask if there are courses/programs available at RVCC that will allow you to meet your educational/training needs to prepare you to find the job you desire.
During her 15-plus year career in workforce development, Fisher and her team have created numerous educational courses and certificate programs at the college. These programs/courses provide people in the community with the necessary skills to help them advance in their chosen career fields.
Fisher is also the facilitator of the college’s Encore Program, which offers a variety of educational resources for adults, 50 and older, including assistance with midlife career planning and transitioning to new careers.
Except for holidays, PSGCNJ general meetings are always held Mondays, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church, located at 48 West High Street in Somerville, where metered parking is available. All meetings are free and open to the public.
