Do you want to create, or refine, the image you portray to future employers, and others, in your job search?

If so, then come to the Professional Service Group of Central New Jersey (PSGCNJ) general meeting on Monday, January 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 1p.m., where representatives of the Training and Opportunities Committees will present a hands-on workshop entitled Selling U. There will be no guest speaker at this meeting.

The workshop will provide you with the appropriate words to sell yourself to employers and stand out from the crowd. Please bring a pen, a recent résumé, your LinkedIn summary, a Smartphone or Tablet PC, if you have either, and a memory stick/flash drive.

Once you complete this workshop, you will be able to answer these questions:

  • If you could expand your 30-second elevator pitch, what would you say?
  • How do you want future employers to perceive you? Do you portray that image in your cover letters? Does your brand identity stand out when an Interviewer says, ‘Tell me about yourself.’?
  • Do your résumé, and LinkedIn summaries, accurately reflect who you are? Do they present you in the best light?

To get answers to these questions, please come to the meeting on January 27th at the First United Methodist Church, located at 48 West High Street in Somerville.

Please refrain from parking in the church parking lot. Unless you have the appropriate license plate or handicapped placard, please do not park in the handicapped spaces in either the church driveway or the parking lot.

Metered parking is available on West High Street. Be sure to put enough quarters in the meter! A parking ticket in Somerville Borough costs $24! Unmetered parking is also available on West High Street and on other side streets, near the church.

All PSGCNJ meetings are free and open to the public. Can’t make it this week? Visit our website at www.psgcnj.org for upcoming events.
