“Rebooting” your job search efforts

By Barbara Peronebusinessman

It’s easy to see why people lack motivation when it comes to looking for work these days. After all, it’s wintertime now, it’s kind of “blah” outside, and we are still grappling with a go-no-where economy.

Most of us are using multiple tactics to try to find employment yet nothing seems to be working. So, what do we do now? When you’re feeling that way you have to step back and look at things from a fresh perspective. For example, what do you do when your computer isn’t working quite right? The simplest thing to do is shut it down and reboot.

That’s what PSGCNJ members are going to be doing at their general meeting on Monday, January 20th; essentially we’re all going to “reboot” and start sharing the different things we are all doing to rejuvenate our job search efforts. We can all share a few laughs while we’re at it!

There will be no guest speaker at this meeting, it’s just going to be “us.” Remember to bring your business cards so you can network with others.

So, bring a friend and join us Monday, January 20th, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church, located at 48 West High Street in Somerville. All meetings are free and open to the public. If you cannot make it to this meeting visit our website www.psgcnj.org for details about upcoming events.

Please refrain from parking in the church driveway or parking lot. Metered and unmetered parking is available on West High Street. Be sure to put enough coins in the meter; a parking fine in Somerville Borough costs $24. Unmetered parking is also available on several side streets near the church.
